New electronics and search engine

I enjoy working with the smart board. I have the opportunity to have a smart board in the classroom that I am a student teacher at. The teachers allow me to work with the smart board a lot so I am getting used to it. I really like the clickers. It is very interactive with the students and I have seen that the students pay more attention to what is happening when they have a question to answer at the end. I did not know that there were so many different search engines. I like google and I think I will stick with it because I know how it works. If I must change my search engine, I would most likely go with bing.

Fake or real? That is the question.

I remember my teachers always told me that the website that I can trust and are most valuable are the ones that end in org, edu or gov. After looking at the websites I now know that I still have to be extra careful in the sites I use. Some websites will be easy to spot it it is real or fake but then there are others, like the one I looked at in class, that can be very tricky. I think that it is funny that people make fake websites. I would like to know why they do it.

Google Earth

It was a lot of fun to create a tour on Google earth. I did not know what to do but I liked the idea to do schools that where north, south, east, west and then one in the center. I liked looking at the street view of my house and remembering my old car (it was in the driveway of the picture). I really enjoyed going to London and looking at the street views over there. It was my own little trip to London. The ocean view was a little confusing because I kept getting lost to where exactly I was in the ocean. When the earth started spinning really fast I got a little dizzy because I was a genius and followed it with my eyes. I will probably go back on Google earth and create another tour or just look around at other countries. It is amazing what we have available to us when it comes to technology.

iMovie

I am really excited to see the ending product of our movie. I mean, how cool will a movie be about why a rock is a good pet. I had a fun time working with my group and making decisions like where our next shot will be and how to shoot the scene. Everyone brought good ideas. When we looked at the shots that we got, they looked really good. All the different angles looked amazing. We had a idea on how we would do the transitions. I can't wait until we can start putting our movie together.

Photo shop

I had a very fun time working with photo shop. I like learning new things on the computer. I always wanted to learn how to do the kind of stuff that photo shop allows for us to do. Like putting me in a place I have never been before. I think that once I learn more about photo shop and learn how to do everything, I will be able to enjoy it more and get less frustrated with it.

Qlubb

This website is a calendar so you can get organized and have all of your events written down in one place. I thought this was a good site because some people may not have a phone or do not like to use their phone to put down their activities in. They write down appointments but then they cannot remember where they put that piece of paper. With this website, they can write down all of their appointments in one area along with placing files for business meeting or family outings. I would use this website to organize lesson plans to help me remember what I have scheduled for a particular day. I could also have my students set up one and they can organize their homework so they know what is due when. I believe that the calendar tab was the best part of this website. Right now, the message board is under construction so it does not work at all at the moment. The intended audience is adults who have a lot going on.

kidopo site

I looked at http://www.kidopo.com/. This website has many different kinds of activities for children to enjoy. I believe that the purpose of the website is to have a variety of activities for teachers to use from and games for students. There are math, science, brain, and memory games. This gives the students the opportunity to play a fun game while learning different concepts. I would use this website for my students to review math concepts, learn about the 50 states and to improve their memory. I really enjoyed the memory games because it actually made me think and problem solve. Everything that I clicked on worked so I would say the only down fall is that the website provides just fun games like dress up games. I believe that the intended audience for this website is for students just because of the way it is set up.
